The Pathobiology Graduate Program at Penn State University accepts applications for Fall admission only. Applications must be completed electronically. Penn State University no longer accepts paper-based applications. The receipt and completion of a graduate application package does not guarantee admission to the Pathobiology graduate program.

Deadline for Fall admission: International - February 15, U.S. Citizen - April 1

Review process for all applications will begin December 15

FORMALLY APPLY TO THE GRADUATE SCHOOL AT PENN STATE UNIVERSITY

  • Applicants may only apply to one program and one campus at a time.

  • The only method to formally apply to the Graduate School at Penn State is by electronic application. Penn State University NO LONGER ACCEPTS PAPER-BASED APPLICATIONS for admission. All students are required to use the Electronic Application available online at http://gradsch.psu.edu/portal/. The application fee is $45.00 U.S. Dollars.

Official Transcripts:

To obtain a TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM, click on View and Print or Type On and Print

  • Two official transcripts are required from all institutions of higher education attended, both undergraduate and graduate.

  • International applicants must submit official or attested university records including degree certificates and graduation certificates in their original language along with certified translations if the records are not in English.

Application for U.S. visa:

Official standardized Graduate Record Examination GRE and TOEFL test scores:

  • Institution code for Penn State GRE & TOEFL is 2660. GRE Department code for Pathobiology is 0622.

Letters of recommendation:

  • Three (3) letters of recommendation are required.

Personal Statement of Purpose:

  • Describe your general background and explain interest in Pathobiology and your goals.

APPLICATION FEE -- DO NOT send cash

  • Credit Card -- follow the online electronic instructions
  • Checks -- made payable to: The Pennsylvania State University
  • Money Orders -- International money orders or checks must be drawn on a U.S. bank. Your canceled check serves as your receipt
  • If you do not pay by credit card, please download a copy of the Application Fee form that can be accessed from the Electronic Application, and mail along with your payment of the non-refundable $45.00 U.S. application fee to:

GRADUATE APPLICATION STATUS INQUIRY

If you have submitted a graduate application to Penn State and wish to check your status, you may do so by using the above on-line status inquiry system. When you submit your application via the web, it will take up to 72 hours before its status will appear in the on-line status inquiry sytem. Please note the status inquiry feature is not available between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. U.S. eastern standard time. The status inquiry system is updated once each work day. Because the admission process is decentralized, your supporting materials (transcripts, letters of recommendation, test scores, etc.) should be sent directly to the Pathobiology graduate program.
